Message from our Headteacher
I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of West Ashtead Primary School. We are committed to providing a high quality learning environment for our children so that they can thrive both academically and socially. We expect the highest standards from all our children and provide them with the challenge, opportunities and experiences for them to flourish. We aim to create independent, confident and resilient individuals who leave us prepared for future challenges.
We have a strong dedicated team of professionals, including specialist teachers in French, Music and sport, who inspire our children and deliver lessons that make learning exciting and rewarding. We work hard to create an engaging, motivating curriculum that includes high quality art, music and practical skills alongside reading, writing and maths. We know all our children extremely well and pride ourselves on placing tolerance, kindness and respect at the heart of our relationships with one another.
At West Ashtead we have a large playing field with trim trail, 3 playgrounds, outside areas for infants to support the continuous provision of their learning, a music hut, a well-stocked library, a cookery room and our large hall is equipped with new gymnastic equipment. Outdoor learning is positively encouraged and enhanced by our development of our woodland, pond and gardening areas. We have onsite wrap around care provided by Red Bananas.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and expect all staff, parents and visitors to share this commitment. We ensure that our children learn in a safe, nurturing environment.
Thank you for visiting our website and enjoy exploring to find out more. We welcome visitors to our school so please come and see us at work.
